A couple of months back my dog gave birth to some pups at the jungle (or at least we call the mass shrubbery surrounding our village a forest). We hadnt seen the pups until recently and there was about five. The numbers shrunk as we do not know where the rest are to three and then eventually two little munchkins.
I must say, dogs truly are smart. The mother dog, knew that she couldnt give birth at our place given the circumstances with our neighbors and also as primitive instincts go, they would hide them away from possible threats.
I was a withness to this, watching her journey from wobbling like an inflated balloon to searching the woods for a nest. After birth she wouldnt come home for days and it worried me whenever it rained. Thankful she found a spot close by, surprisingly under an rusty pick up truck with tin roofs. When she did come back home she'd check up on her pups until one day she just stays outside our home. A few days later we see 3 little pups playing in front of the field, and eventually these pups found their way in front of our homes.
Its really admirable, pups the size of my hands journeying in the middle of the night in front of our house barking and crying for their mother who refuses to milk them sometimes and takes shelter up our patio table.
These pups are human shy, but only after two days of trying to gain their trust, the brown one was already being amiable, licking my fingers and feet.
Dog mom of course is jealous as well as over protective of her pups. Whenever she see's me trying to play with her pup, she would go on my lap and snuggle her muzzle between my arms.
Whenever there is a perceived threat or this one time when i was walking my other dogs, she literally used her arms to protect her pup, pulling it away as a mom would and urge it to move away.
Dogs are precious, they are intelligent, lovable and the perfect companions.
Meanwhile meet Lorelie (light brown) and Mini-Mini (black-brown print), their supposed name until i think of a better one.
Aren't they adorable? Lorelie is actually a boy and the sweets little thing. He acts like a hero and leader and is very protective of his sister. I don't know why I named him Lorelie, it just came to me and he also have no tail like his mum! I just learned that if you cut a dogs tail chances are their pups will inherit that too. Mini-Mini which is a name I got from a Korean Drama called Tomorrow's cantibile is a girl, and like her she is adorable and shy.
Cheers, Love!

P.S. the magic word is munchkin.
