I suck at lying, it would most likely be obvious if you are an expert in lying, maybe people like my parents could be fooled with that, and usually my lies are minor. I hate being lied at so I never lie. Only in some circumstances. A few months back we read this book called kite runner, it's a really nice example of lying for the sake of saving and helping the one you care about, there are also some cases in the story where you hate the main character because he lies only to make himself happy, in return gains guilt and hatred.
I'd be lying if I said i'm okay... Sometime I get annoyed with my friends and when I get full of their pranks I'd lie just to be in good terms with them - compromising for the sake of peace. Even when its obvious that I'm not okay, just to keep that peace i'd lie and pretend everything is alright even if it's not.
I don't know if I'm right, correct me if I'm wrong from the book kite runner, the main characters father said the worst sin was stealing. If you lie you steal the persons right for justice, if you kill a person, you steal that persons family's right for happiness. If you cheat, you steal a spouses right for the truth and happiness and so on. The main point is that if stealing was one big sin then lying is another right? But that doesn't mean it's avoidable, sometimes there are times you have to lie for the better. But lying isn't supposed to be tolerated if its not used for a good reason.
